Everything below can go in your Bag2School collection bags. Items should be clean and in good condition. The more your school community donates — including soft toys, shoes, and bags — the more your school earns. If in doubt, call us on 01609 780 222.

Good news for schools — we now accept clean, good condition soft toys and teddies as part of your Bag2School collection. Soft toys are an easy win for parents who want to contribute but may not have much clothing to donate. Old teddies, plush toys, and stuffed animals all count — and every extra bag adds to your school's total weight and earnings.
Encouraging parents to add a handful of soft toys to their donation bag is a simple way to increase your collection haul without asking for more effort. Mention it in your newsletter, your booking reminder, or on your collection day posters. Soft toy collections are currently available in the postcode areas shown below.
Soft toys should be clean, dry, and in good condition — no heavy staining, tears, or strong odours. If a parent wouldn't give it to a friend's child, it probably shouldn't go in the bag. A quick mention of this in your collection communications will help keep quality high.
Most parents think of Bag2School as a clothing collection — and it is. But the more types of items your school community knows we accept, the heavier your bags and the more your school earns. Share this page with parents before your collection day and encourage them to do a proper clear-out, not just a wardrobe sort.
Paired shoes in wearable condition are always welcome — ask parents to tie or band pairs together before bagging them up. Handbags, belts, and scarves are frequently overlooked but regularly collected. Jewellery also counts — costume jewellery and accessories of all kinds can go in alongside clothing donations.
Tip for parents: "Don't forget shoes, handbags, belts, and jewellery — if it's wearable or usable, it can go in your Bag2School bag."
Bras in all sizes and styles are accepted as long as they're clean and in reasonable condition. This is one of the most overlooked categories — a quick mention in your collection communications can make a meaningful difference to your total weight.
Tip for parents: "Bras in good condition are welcome in your Bag2School bag — all sizes and styles."
Unlike some collection services, we accept socks and scarves. Clean, wearable socks and all types of scarves — winter scarves, fashion scarves, and ties — can all go in. Encourage parents to think beyond the wardrobe and check drawers and accessories boxes too.
Tip for parents: "Socks, scarves, and ties are all accepted — check the drawers as well as the wardrobe."
If your school is in one of our soft toy collection areas, encourage parents to add clean teddies and soft toys to their bags alongside clothing. Children outgrow soft toys quickly — this is an easy way for families to clear them out while boosting your collection total. Check the map above to confirm your postcode area is covered.
Copy and customise this message for your school newsletter, text message, or collection day reminder:

Q: Can we donate soft toys as part of our Bag2School collection?
A: Yes — we now accept clean, good condition soft toys and teddies in a growing number of postcode areas. Check the list above to confirm your area is covered, then encourage parents to add soft toys to their donation bags alongside clothing.
Q: Do soft toys count towards our school's weight total?
A: Yes. Every item in your collection bags contributes to the overall weight, which determines how much your school earns. Soft toys are a great way for parents to clear out toys their children have outgrown and boost your collection total at the same time.
Q: What condition do donated items need to be in?
A: All items should be clean, dry, and in good usable condition. Wet, soiled, heavily worn, or damaged items cannot be accepted and may reduce the value of your collection. Remind parents to check items before bagging them up.
The items below can't be included in your Bag2School collection. Including them risks reducing the value of your collection or causing items to be rejected on the day. If you're unsure about anything, call us on 01609 780 222 before collection day.

Including rejected items can affect the overall value of your collection. Items that can't be processed have to be separated out, which adds handling time and can reduce what your school receives. A quick reminder to parents before collection day goes a long way — even just one line in your newsletter is enough.
